In the 1948 Declaration of Independence of the State of Israel, founder David Ben Gurion promised social and political equality for all citizens, regardless of religion, race or gender.
But the gap between rich and poor is growing in the promised land. In On the Edge of the Dream, three children are portrayed who grow up in Israel under poor and sometimes life-threatening circumstances, but who dream of a bright future.
