Painful Evidence

A film by Barbara Mokkena

Is a bruise in a child the result of a fall or is there more to it? The Forensic Outpatient Clinic for Child Abuse (FPKM) conducts research into injuries in children when it is doubted whether the facts of that injury match the story that is being told. The forensic investigation can lead to the identification of maltreatment or sexual abuse. In this way, it can contribute to the prosecution of a suspect. It can also reassure the environment if a medical cause or accident is identified.

Painful Evidence is for the first time watching the daily work of the Forensic Outpatient Clinic for Child Abuse (FPKM).
