My family in times of war

Docudrama 'My family in times of war' by Chris de Ceunick van Capelle.

The film reconstructs historical events: from the Japanese occupation in the Dutch East Indies to the arrival of more than 330.000 Indo-Dutch people in the Netherlands.

History is told through the dramatic fortunes of the filmmaker's family. This makes these events personal and the viewer can identify with the family members. History comes to life, also and especially for new generations. They get a complete and tangible picture of this history.

The film also pays tribute to the 1st generation of Indo-Dutch people and offers them the opportunity to pass on their story.
