A documentary about Dutch UN soldiers in the forgotten Korea War.
In De Voorste Linie, Dutch veterans talk about their forgotten war in Korea. What possessed them to volunteer when the Second World War was just over? Idealism and gratitude, but also very different motives are mentioned. For example, an ex-member of the Waffen-SS speaks of the repayment of my debt to the Dutch people. Cohen and Van Haalen create a penetrating image of the veterans and make their feelings almost tangible.
